Keynote Summary
In this workshop, Ying Xie, Program Manager of the Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre (OCCSC), will provide an overview of the changing trends in the Chinese market and opportunities for overseas investment from the Chinese community’s perspective. will discuss how your organization can benefit from Ottawa’s growing Chinese immigrant community.
Mr. Xie will share information about the growing Chinese talent pool in Canada and Chinese business immigrants. Attendees will learn how to identify opportunities to do business with China and collaborate with Chinese companies through relationships established by our immigrant community.
Speaker’s Bio
Ying Xie is the Program Manager in Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre, a non profit organization that is dedicated to help newcomers integrate into Canadian society. He is actively involved in cross-culture communication training and served as China specialist for Nortel Management Relocation Program.
Before joining OCCSC, Ying served as general manager in EURO Villa (1999-2002) and senior management consultant of Invest AB in Kina Beijing Office (1995-1998). He is the pioneer in selling timber framed houses in China and has supported a number of Swedish invested companies in their successful startup and expansion in the Chinese market. The clientele included Volvo Cars and Trucks, Ericsson Telecom, ABB Power Supply and Perstorp etc. He also involved in the design and development of Tianjin Economic Development Area (TEDA), one of the 14 Chinese coastal cities that piloted China’s market reform.
Ying holds a master’s degree in business administration from University of Exeter. He earned a post graduate certificate and BA in international economic cooperation from NanKai University in China.
