About OCRI Life Sciences

OCRI Life Sciences is a division of OCRI—the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation. OCRI is a non-profit, partnership whose mission is to lead Ottawa in economic development by connecting business, research, education, government and talent to advance the competitiveness of our knowledge-based industries and institutions, to build wealth and enhance our quality of life.

OCRI Life Sciences includes comprehensive programs focused on the biomedical sciences and clean technology sectors.

The Biomedical Sciences program targets strengths identified in diagnostics, medical devices, therapeutics, pharmaceuticals, biomedical informatics, and convergence technology. Through interaction with key organizations in R&D companies, industry specific service companies, government regulatory and research departments, hospitals, and academic institutions, the Biomedical Sciences program develops and delivers initiatives to capitalize on the regional strengths in order to promote commercial development and economic growth.

The Ottawa Cleantech Initiative offers rapid identification and access to potential strategic partners, support organizations, government and other programs, research, thought leaders, specialized infrastructure and services within the Ottawa and Eastern Ontario cleantech ecosystem. By enabling these diverse interactions the Ottawa Cleantech Initiative promotes accelerated commercial development and advancement of clean technology and companies in the region.
