Bootstrap Award - Categories

 

  1. Best Micro Business
    Nominees should have annual revenues less than or equal to $100,000.



  2. Best 20 and Under Startup
    Nominee must have been aged 20 years or under when the organization was started and the organization must be three years old or less. Nominee must submit why he or she should be considered the ‘best’ and may submit annual revenues for the current year and previous two years, if available.



  3. Best Web Site
    Nominees should demonstrate how their website’s design supports and is integrated into their business model. Success indicators may include design, engagement, usability, traffic and online sales as well as show how any backend systems power their business.

  4. Best Technique for Sales/Pre-Sales/Launch Clients
    Nominees should tell us how they found pre-launch and launch customers or describe how the techniques they used for accelerating sales or pre-sales.



  5. Best Value Proposition/Value Differentiator/‘Pixie Dust’
    Differentiated value is what sets you apart from the competition. Nominees should show how their value proposition differs from their competitors and how they deliver value to their customers and clients.

  6. Most Innovative Source Bootstrap Capital
    Nominees should show how they self-capitalized/bootstrapped their new enterprise without VC money.



  7. Best Guerrilla Marketing Idea /Social Marketing
    Nominees should demonstrate how smart marketing (either or both guerrilla marketing and social marketing) allowed them to get earned media for their enterprises and cost effectively acquire customers and clients cost effectively.



  8. Most Innovative Social Enterprise Fundraiser
    Nominees should show how their event/fundraiser/campaign used innovative/entrepreneurial techniques to fund their activities.



  9. Most Innovative Business Model
    Nominees should show how they created a business model for the 21st Century that produces great results so that the harder they work, the more money they can make. Or put another way, demonstrate how ‘you can think your way to wealth a lot faster than you can work your way there.’ Show how your business model gives you a lasting, sustainable competitive advantage and ‘concession’ or ‘franchise’.

  10. Fastest Growing Startup (Last Three Years)
    Organizations whose top line growth is significant will want to apply here. The organization must be seven years of age or less and not have received outside funding of more than $500,000. Results for the current year and two previous years are required.

    Winner of Fastest Growing Startup to be announced at the OCRI Awards Gala.

Only cancellations received in writing by fax/email two working days prior to the event date will be refunded, less 10%.
